The Yunnan Nationalities Museum has the most centralized collection and display of various Yunnan national minorities. It is also the biggest national museum in Southeast Asia. The museum occupies a land area of 130,000 square meters. It is divided into four areas namely the display, demonstration, collection and scientific research.
The overall layout is in winding corridor garden type. It comprised of eight special halls, divided into "Yunnan National minority Form of society - Reform and Development", "Yunnan National minority Ecology Industry", "Yunnan National minority Spinning and Craft Weaving And Art Clothing", "the Yunnan National minority Folk Fine arts", "Yunnan National minority Festival Music Dancing Celebration", "Yunnan National minority Handicrafts", "Yunnan National minority Ancient book Literature" and "Wonderful Stone Treasure". They are displayed in 16 exhibition halls and have very high research and ornamental value.
