This city is world famous as home to pandas, China's national treasure. Located just 10 km away from downtown Chengdu. Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center has been creating and imitating pandas' natural habitats in order that they might have the best environment for rearing and breeding. The Giant Panda Museum was opened in 1993 for further scientific education and to raise public awareness of the protection of both wild creatures and their environment. This is the world's only thematic museum for rare and endangered animal species.
Itinerary
DAY 1 : Chengdu (Meals: -/-/ )Thatched Cottage of Du Fu
Upon your arrival in Chengdu, you will meet our guide and visit Dufu's Thatched Cottage if time permits. Transfer to your hotel.
DAY 2 : Chengdu (Meals: B/L/D) Dujiangyan Water Irrigation System/Teahouses
Morning transfer to visit ancient Dujiangyan Water Irrigation System (approximately 50 km away, about 45 minutes driving). Sightseeing in Dujiangyan includes Dragon Subduing Temple, Erwang Temple & Anlan Bridge(also known as Wife & Husband Bridge). Transfer back to Chengdu for a lunch,afternoon you will go to a teahouses(tea is optional) and learn the local life in sichuan province.
DAY 3 : Chengdu ( Meals: B/L/D) Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding / Sanxingdui Bronze Ware Museum/Changing face
Morning transfer to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Sightseeing in the base includes Giant Panda Base, Lesser Panda Base, Butterfly Base and Giant Pandas’ Delivery Room. After lunch, transfer to Sanxingdui Bronze Ware Museum. The cultural relics at Sanxingdui are precious cultural heritage of mankind, which contain rich historical, cultural and scientific value. Transfer back to Chengdu. A Sichuan cuisine will be arranged for you, and you can also watch the local art performance (changing face, optional).
After breakfast, our guide will see you off for your onward destination.
